Epic New Audiences 2007-2008

Every great play has the potential to bring diverse communities together to celebrate and challenge the world we share, to be a collective experience that inspires discussion and spurs action.

With this in mind, Epic Theatre Ensemble hosts the FORUM SERIES after each Off-Broadway performance, where our audience has a chance to discuss issues raised by the production with the artists from the show and invited guests who bring a unique perspective to the material. Some of the distinguished guests who have recently joined us include:

• The National Security Council's Director for European Affairs, Ambassador Robert Hutchings

Beyond the Forum Series, Epic employs a series of NEW AUDIENCE INITIATIVES to bring first-time theatre-goers to our productions. These initiatives include:

• Saturday Family Matinees: Parents and children interact with artists from the play in a pre-show morning workshop then stay for lunch and a matinee performance.
• Audience Development Committees: Artists, thinkers, and community leaders join together to connect Epic's work to their particular constituencies. In the Spring of 2007, Lancôme sponsored the Beyond Beauty Initiative, the Audience Development Initiative for our production of Beauty on the Vine.
• Affordable Group Rate Tickets for university, activist, and community groups.
